Richard Turner is a renowned Australian entrepreneur recognised for building and scaling four successful companies across diverse industries. Twice named South Australian Entrepreneur of the Year (1996 & 2010) and winner of the Australian Entrepreneur of the Year (Cleantech) award, Richard is best known for founding ZEN Energy, which became Australia’s largest clean energy generator and retailer. Alongside his family, he has helped create three billion-dollar companies in manufacturing, distribution, and energy. Passionate about sustainability and business with purpose, Richard founded the Entrepreneurs’ Organisation in South Australia, was Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of South Australia, and is currently Deputy Chair of the Premier’s Climate Change Council. In 2022, he released his book, The Essential Entrepreneur (Wiley), sharing his proven framework for starting, scaling, and selling successful businesses.
